Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Animal Ancestry ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Description of Service
Animal Ancestry provides DNA-based ancestry, health, and lineage tracking services for animals. The Service includes DNA sample processing, breed composition analysis, health marker screening, diet recommendations, relative matching, family tree building, and cold case DNA contribution features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Accounts and Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. Animal Ancestry cannot be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
Subscriptions and Billing
The Service offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription billed monthly. Premium subscriptions are processed through our third-party payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing to Premium, you authorize us to charge the recurring subscription fee to your designated payment method until you cancel. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
DNA Data and Privacy
By submitting a DNA sample, you confirm that you are the legal owner or authorized guardian of the animal and consent to genetic analysis of that sample. Your animal's DNA data is stored securely and is never sold. Lineage and ancestry information shared publicly is anonymized until a viewer unlocks it through Premium access. Cold Case Contributions
If you opt in to cold case DNA matching, your animal's genetic profile will be compared against evidence from unsolved cases. Your identity remains confidential, and participation is voluntary. Animal Ancestry is not responsible for the outcome of any investigation and makes no guarantee that a match will be found or that authorities will act on any match reported.
User Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to violate any laws, infringe on the rights of others, upload false or misleading DNA data, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data, or interfere with the proper functioning of the Service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Service, including text, graphics, logos, reports, and software, is the property of Animal Ancestry or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission. Blog content may be shared with proper attribution and a link back to the original source.
Advertisements
The Service displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or the products and services they promote. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Animal Ancestry does not guarantee that DNA results will be 100% accurate or that relatives or cold case matches will be found. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Animal Ancestry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
